We are now running on a new, and hopefully much-improved, server. In addition we are also on new forum software. Any move entails a lot of technical details and I suspect we will encounter a few issues as the new server goes live. Please be patient with us. It will be worth it! :)
Please help by posting all issues here.
The forum will be down for about an hour this weekend for maintenance. I apologize for the inconvenience.
So I just tried to post a link to opencarry.org, actually a link to a thread on the VA forum, and they BLOCKED IT!! They said it was "UNSAFE".... Has anyone had this happen? I reported it to FB.

Now here's an article that I find interesting. Not VA specific, so Mr. Moderator may want to move it to where it belongs....

Anyone wanting to share a ride from Blacksburg/Roanoke???
PM me if you have a seat available. I'll share gas of course. I'm just not interested in driving up there alone while getting 12 MPG :).
Ok, I've searched and can't find anything. With all this Zimmerman stuff going on I'm in a debate about wrongful death civil suits that Zimmerman might face. I believe FL is a state that has a law making someone found not guilty in a shooting trial not liable to civil actions against him...
This link header appeared on Drudge today:
"Gun Owners Flock To STARBUCKS Over Support Of Second Amendment Rights... "

Congrats Ed, you made it to the big time...
You beat me to it, exactly my thoughts. Here's a photo of me in VA Tech's Newman library next to a very sweet hydrogen peroxide rocket motor they have on the first floor. Note the .45 on my side. I've OCed a number of times with no issues even though I know I've been reported but the campus...
Attempted robbery and rape by a much larger man ends poorly for him. I'm shocked the woman was able to take her attacker down with one well placed shot from a .22 to the chest. Link to the story:

I pulled out of a parking lot with no traffic. Suddenly a Montgomery County Sheriff's crusier came out of nowhere and is slowly passing me by like he's checking me out. There was glare on his window as I looked over towards him but it appeared that he was shaking a big "Thumbs Up" to me. And...

A little long but a fun story for me at least, first time I've had something like this happen to me while OCing.
I attended Rick Boucher's Townhall meeting in Dublin, VA (New River Community College) this morning on the health care issue. Got there about a half hour early, lucky...

I'm intending on attending Rick Boucher's townhall meeting while OCing. I do not know of any law restricting me from doing so for a representative, the President yes, but a representative no. The townhall meeting will be at a community college, which I'm sure bans guns, although I...

I assume I am relegated to transporting my weapon unloaded and in my gun safe. Is there anything I should know while in the great state of Lincoln while in the possession of a handgun? Am I even allowed to have it if I make a stop to visit my aunt while passing through?

My limited understanding is this:
Must transport secured (gun safe all right?), unloaded (best to have mag stored separately?) and not within reach (does this matter if it's in a gun safe?).
I may OC anywhere other than state parks, publicly owned/leased buildings (both state...

Somewhere I read (I thought here) something about the VA legislature recently passing a law allowing the state to take away any lands used for militia training if that training was intended to be used against the government. I've searched and searched and can't find anything...

I was indicted by the state of VA about seven months ago (VA 18.2-85). While in my new lawyer's office yesterday, old lawyer had a motorcycle accident, he and another lawyer stated they did not think I could possess or carry a weapon while under indictment. They could find no VA...

The state is "compensating" the families. Isn't this nothing less than a tacit admission that they were liable for the safety of the students? And couldn't this action be taken as a precident for future legal action?
And BTW, the families who are taking the deal are probably the...
