9th circuit rules may issue unconstitutional in Peruta

having a government official exercise discretion over a citizen's fundamental/enumerated right...partly intended to function as a check on the government's power strikes me as the fox guarding the hen house.

    University of New Haven Case?

Anybody watching this one? Mr. Dong is being charged under some of the new laws. Apparently, 911 callers reported MWAG. The article says a mass shooting was "averted" but the only charges relate to possession, transport and BOP...IOW, low-hanging fruit. No charges relating to...

    Ridgefield, CT

Ridgefield PD have apparently not been trained on OC...was quite surprised to hear from an officer that if a citizen calls 911 in response to a lawful OC, the OC'er will be arrested and the "courts can sort it out." Maybe it was just "big talk"...maybe not.

Open Carry Terry Stops Legal or not?

Clearly, the judge's stated opinion is meaningless. Thanks for correcting the record. Will a court accept your forum posting as controlling authority?

8/2013 Bucks County Non-resident LTCF Still Issues

Bucks County WILL issue to non-residents. The cost is $24, takes about 30mins and you are on your way with card in hand. They will NOT issue to NY residents with restricted permits and they believe that the PA counties that do so are violating statute. All you need is home-state permit...

The CT Barfly Breach of Peace Clarification Thread

There's been plenty of chatter about the Goldberg case and what it meant as far as 4A/RAS/PC...but I would like to get some additional clarification regarding the BOP statute CGS 53a-181. Sec. 53a-181. Breach of the peace in the second degree: Class B misdemeanor. (a) A person is guilty of...

    The CT Barfly Thread

OK guys, I've been asked to stay on topic...which is extremely hard for me to do sometimes. So I figure the solution is to put up an anything goes thread where you can ask me anything and I can post anything (within the rules, of course). I've read a bunch of threads in here and I have some...

    Hey Everybody

Been lurking and just decided to register. Seems like there's a great deal of info in here and a few experts, too. I have some strong opinions about the CT system but hey, everybody's got those. I am toying with writing an instruction manual for applying for the CT permit...but we'll see how...
