Dumb stuff I can tolerate. There seems to be a wealth of that around. When it becomes dismissive and insulting, I draw the line. I am not going to read or listen to that.

nada...just nada for accountability of his own commentary...

Gutshot said " "He would not allow a hearing for any bill that added any restrictions on gun owners AND was not absolutely consistent with the 2nd Amendment."

Meaning in anyone elses understanding of English but yours, that if a regulation was put forth that is consistent with the 2A, he will allow a hearing.

Otherwise if he and or you understand there is NO gun regulation consistent with the 2A, that qualifier tacked on the end wouldn't be there.

The word "regulation" appears nowhere in my post. Now you are putting words in my sentences. I think your understanding of english grammar needs a little brushing up. The word "restrictions" only refers to "gun owners". I wrote it and I know what it means. I think everyone else also knows. What is a "regulation that is consistent with the 2A"? I am not familiar with that. Are you drinking again? Put that cork back in the bottle and try to read it in the morning.

alas gut, seems, for whatever reason, you are exhibiting even more uncharacteristically behaviour by uttering bitter insults and unfounded & unsubstantiated insinuations towards a fellow KY member ~ why?

Sorry I dont drink alcohol. Ever.
You playing word games again Gut like you always do when the ground falls out from under your argument.

Can we agree you paraphrased the senator adding some moderating phrase so if and when he does support a gun restriction or regulation , same thing actually, you'll still be able to defend him.?

It's real simple. No big words this time.
ANY interference with the RTKABA by gov cannot be consistent with the 2A.

To much emphasis on the 2A anyway by gun owning folks.
The 2A didnt and doesn't grant the RTKABA. THAT right prexisted this nation and is as old as the first human throwing a rock at an enemy.
Its NOT only a right that applies to Americans but is a right every human being and even animal is born with.

Definition of regulation :

2a : an authoritative rule dealing with details or procedure
2b : a rule or order issued by an executive authority or regulatory agency of a government and having the force of law
Definition of restriction

1 : something that restricts: such as
a : a regulation that restricts or restrains
b : a limitation on the use or enjoyment of property or a facility
I'ma thinking that the two above words do not have the same meaning...but result in the same outcome...

You actually believe that, even though one of those actions could land you in jail and the other one won't? I consider that a very big distinction. I also believe that the words people use mean something. When I post something, I mean what I say not some other almost, perhap, maybe something and I will not allow others to take me to task for something I did not say. Meaning what you say is what Mr. Ghost calls "word games". Words can have any meaning he wants them to have. I see it just the opposite way. It is the ultimate use of words without any games. Whether you use regulation or restriction, I did not use either word in reference to the 2A. I used the word "restriction" referring only to "gun owners". In the world of Ghost19568, words change meaning constantly. You can just make them mean what you want them to mean and move them about in the sentence with ease. I don't know how you would ever learn to talk like that. How would you ever know what other people mean? Ghost1958 is an anti-gunner that comes here to stir up dissent and discord. I have yet to see one post that he agrees with, by anyone.

actually, from the definitions, regulation, def #2b ~ carry weight of law! and restriction, def #1a ~ a regulation!

a circle, which by definition could land a citizen's derrière in the hoosegow depended on how upset you made the nice LEs and if the prosecutor need a symbolic case for reelection!

so gut, as you accused others, you are guilty of the same offence ~ letting words mean what you want them to believe!

It would also be their last term in office. Our concealed carry law is enormously popular in this state. Without it we lose reciprocity and the gun owners won't stand for that. The vast majority of gun owner's affection for the Constitution won't extend that far.

i am sure the citizens of VA believed the same things...

The two terms can "go hand-in-hand" and typically do...but they are not the same...yes, words mean things and when words are used properly when we communicate our thoughts ambiguity is greatly reduced.

...don't crap on the fella who agrees with you...don't tell me what my beliefs are and I will not tell you what to read...

I only asked if you actually believe what you wrote. I don't consider that "craping one" anybody. You can ask me the same question anytime. I won't complain.

My apologies, I edited my previous post to be more precise while you were respnding...a timing issue it seems...and the misplaced comma does not read the way you apparently inteded, your clarification makes your position clear. I stand corrected. Thank you for clarifying your position.

No, I do not believe that a restriction, in and of itself, will land you in jail...I do believe that both terms result in the same outcome...a infringement on our 2A guarantee by either the state or a private citizen.

Break a restriction imposed by gov you will and get caught, you'll suffer a fine up to and including jail depending on how serious the offence.

Break a restriction imposed by gov and exactly the same thing will happen.

As I stated word games to salvage guts indefensible argument.

In your little sphere perhaps.
Almost everyone I know carrys and always have. And I know alot of folks.

Most of them were for the cc law KC3 pushed for until all the new restrictions came with it. Then not so much.

Repeal of the cc law in ky , now that the state is for the most part honoring the 2A , would be popular as the regulations that are attached to cc would have to go also.

Many also know that had a bit of patience been used instead of kc3s headlong rush to hide their guns, we would have had in another few years what we have now. No permit needed and none of the illegal carry restrictions that came with the permit law.

Any reciprocity needed is easily accomplished by getting a permit in another state .

The legislature had no authority to create a permit scheme in ky in the first place. The ky constitution only granted it authority to prevent cc. That's it and that's all.

Not create permits , charge fees or create carry restrictions.

The 2A doesn't allow a state to regulate weapons at all.

A move to get rid of the illegal permit scheme would be rather popular with the armed citizenry IMO based on the people I know and correspond with.

A "regulation" CAN land you in jail. Check out the Ky. Administrative Regulations.

As can a restriction.

However landing in jail over the carry of a firearm in ky is almost impossible.

Being told to leave or denied entry is about as serious as it gets here.
