Is it just me, or does this look more like a CC'er who was unaware his CC'ed firearm became exposed?

Situational awareness FIRST and always. Regardless of your carry method or holster, someone just MIGHT come along and konk you on the head and take it away from you. Somehow, that isn't something we hear much about however.

Location, surroundings, people... it all depends. And each person is responsible for their own choices and actions, as well as any consequences. I don't "MUST" do anything to suit anyone else. Your mileage may vary...

Retention is prudent because situational awareness is not 100% and never will be.

Of course it is not 100%. Nothing is. And any sort of "retention" can be overcome if some criminal (or child) wants it badly enough to make it happen. There are no guarantees in this life, and especially not in self defense. But if this retention thing was such an enormous problem, guns would be snatched constantly, somewhere. Since it is hardly a factor, and so seldom happens, I think I'll go with continued practice of all the other parts of safe gun handling, carrying.

And yes, my OC holster has a retention strap. But I'm not worried about it. :)

this event brought to us by the Op occurred in April 2016. here's guns.coms article
http://www.guns.com/2016/05/03/suspect-caught-on-camera-swiping-gun-from-mans-pocket-video/

there is no retentation whatsoever utilized by the carrier cuz there is no holster! (yes, i know a leather holster, w/o strap, has some innate retention properties, but an uncle mike's style might lack that minimal capability.)

this event was specifically mentioned by a poster during Oct 16 in a thread started by SFC.

come on nellybelle, let's go as there's current events to discuss.

as the boss says..Happy Trails to You this Labour Day!

The only things we MUST have are common sense, follow the law, and mind our own business. Besides carrying a gun shoved in a pocket is NOT open carry, it is P poor conceal carry.

This video HAS been discussed before, this is very old video.
