A nasty law that well see a lot of abuse, have a discussion at the dinner table with a anti freedom relative they report that they felt threaten. Bye Bye guns.

One can replace relative with girl friend, wife or anybody else that remotely related to you.

“The law gives us a vehicle to cause the person to surrender their weapons, to have a time out, if you will,” Los Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Michael Moore told a local NPR affiliate. “It allows further examination of the person’s mental state. It’s a short duration and it allows for due process,” he said. “It’s an opportunity for mental health professionals to provide an analysis of a person’s mental state.”

Beyond the fact that the Asst. Chief has the most appropriate name, he's lying through his teeth. Due process out there is to take the guns, lock them up in evidence and then loose them or send them to be destroyed even though the owners are vindicated.

As usual, the CA chicken littles are screwing over the common law abiding citizen. All it does is allow people with perceived grievances to rip away someones rights. I foresee a HUGE spate of perjury in CA courts, none of which will be prosecuted.

So your saying nut cases can in CA call sane gun owners nut cases? The land of the fruits, and nuts, is truly the land of the nuts.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Nothing to see here. Only smell the verbal diarrhea coming from the mouths of politicians and the media.

To my knowledge California has not closed their borders with other states. Though, going to/through Oregon would be a bad first choice.
