Probably not. Most likely, Just Police Harassment

Hard to believe that there is no video of the event in question. The police gave video of the arrest, from airport security cameras, to the media when they were breaking the story. No video of the event.

The way the accounts were worded, it seems the two women were contacted *after* the arrest, not the police being contacted before. That is a little uncertain, but it was highly suspicious to me that the accounts were worded in such a way as to make it ambiguous as to who contacted whom.

Then the charges that simply did not fit the "crime". The fact that the Doctor had done this before, and was known to the airport authorities. It is similar to people being arrested for disturbing the peace during an open carry picnic, or at a "second amendment" day at a state capitol.

It absolutely reeks of police repression of first and second amendment rights.

did he not actually point it at anyone or what? weird story.

http://www.abc15.com/news/region-ph...r-pointing-ar15-at-2-people-inside-sky-harbor

It was nothing but a muzzle sweep; by the word smithing of the media, you'd almost have this preconceived notion that he instead shouldered the AR and aimed it when it was never the case.

From the ABC article:
"An arresting officer noted the Tempe man, "proceeded to remove the Stag Arm AR15 from his right shoulder thus causing the muzzle to face two victims." The officer goes on to note, “victims, a mother and her 17-year-old daughter, both stated they felt in fear for their safety when the rifle was pointed in their direction.""

Notice also how the two are called "victims" to further reinforce the false notion that they were intentionally placed in grave mortal danger ("targeted" for shooting). Even in the video, the female anchor says "there WERE victims" and the male anchor goes on about it being a woman and her daughter. No mens rea, the only true victim was the man who was arrested.:banghead:

He WAS targeted by Opinion Enforcement Officers; he also carried a rifle and pistol back in November of 2013. It seems they didn't like it, and a previous article quotes someone calling him "smug" for "knowing the law" about where he could and could not carry.

From the November 2013 article (http://www.abc15.com/news/region-ph...-child-carrying-rifle-handgun-at-sky-harbor):
"The woman said the man and his son seemed to enjoy the attention they were getting.

"The vibe that I received from them was that they were rather smug about what they were doing, that they knew the law. They knew what they could and could not do," she said.

The woman is a long-time gun owner and supporter but thinks an airport is not the place for them."

I'm glad everything with Peter is good and he wasn't charged.

He wasn't charged, but in the meantime he had to deal with being arrested, the attorney fees, and his reputation and image have been slandered by the "mainstream media".

Don't know how he will proceed, but I wish him the best.
