I have read through the laws for wisconsin...correct me if I am wrong but isn't it legal to carry in a state park?

You still need a CCL in order to carry in a state park.

http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/s...rrying-(OC)-In-WI-Here-s-what-you-should-know

https://docs.legis.wisconsin.gov/statutes/statutes/29/II/089

(2)  No person may have in his or her possession or under his or her control a firearm on land located in state fish hatcheries unless the firearm is unloaded and enclosed within a carrying case. This subsection does not apply to any of the following:
(d) A licensee, as defined in s. 175.60 (1) (d), or an out-of-state licensee, as defined in s. 175.60 (1) (g), if the firearm is a handgun, as defined in s. 175.60 (1) (bm).

Nope, only hatcheries. They removed parks 1/1/12.

Then they need to update the language to show that. I had forgotten about that.

They did and you quoted it:

Notice, no mention of parks.

Checking for Signs of Life

Hi, newbie here. I was just wondering if this thread is dead? I just moved to Wisconsin from California last week and am interested in learning more. I've never owned a gun before since California makes it way more difficult than it needs to be though I am familiar with how to shoot and basic gun safety. My fiance does own a few, but they're still back in Cali for now. I am interested in learning more about guns in general, but also about open and concealed carry in this state. The plan is to settle in the Chilton area, but for now, we're currently staying with friends in Fond du Lac. Would anyone be willing to make a couple of friends and maybe answer some questions? The laws just seem way too straightforward and I keep feeling like I'm missing something.

Well, if this thread was dead you brought back to life. In some circles that would be called a miracle. Since I'm in southern Ohio it would be a long commute to be a neighboring friend. Long distance relationships usually don't work out. I also think standing on a street corner with a makeshift sign looking for a gun toting friend may not work either. But, posting questions on this forum is totally welcome. I hope you connect with some locals that can guide you through the process.

P/S It looks like you just made a friend ^. Buyer beware.

Please check out www.handgunlaw.us. I have found it to be a reliable and accurate site. Once you're on their home page click on WI (Wisconsin) on the map and they will provide a comprehensive listing of things you need to know in Wisconsin relative to firearm ownership and carry. They work hard at keeping the site up to date -- as of this morning, the last update for WI was on August 20th of this year.

Welcome there is lot of life here in Wisconsin a 2 year old tread is not the norm there has been many threads posted and replied too in the Wisconsin forum over the last two years.

On the first two pages there is roughly 34 different threads with 2017 dates.

Let alone all the threads from the 8 2015 date of this one.

So let me ask why you did pick a 2015 thread to start your with your first post.

This is the best thread to understand carrying in WI:

I wish I were a bit closer or I would OC with you up there.
