Ky related: Anyone know a good Gun Smith/customizer?

I've got someone special who wants their first pistol, problem solved I'm planning on gifting them my old Hi-point .40sw, but they really hate black and silver guns, they want something 'pretty'. I was wondering if any of y'all know of any gun smiths, or people who specialize in customizing firearms, who could spruce up the old HP with some pink and white stuff, maybe some Hello Kitty fun work on the grips and slide, or something, for lack of a better word, gay'ed up, but won't charge an arm and a leg!

I got a hold of one gun smith local to me, but they wanted twice what the pistol is worth, just to put a special urban camo paint job on the slide and grips. Obviously way out of my league.

The gun is inexpensive - custom work by a professional is not.

You can give it a basic makeover yourself, but w/o a substantial investment in both effort and money the results will probably be less than satifactory.

I could try my hand at it if you wouldn't mind a minimalist themed Hello Kitty.

What sort of supplies would you need? I assume a couple cans of spray paint and glue wouldn't cut it? xD

Gonna look into that, but I don't wanna send it off or anything, prefer to have someone within a hundred miles of me.

Because a FWB hates the normal look of guns, black and silvered and blued, they don't appeal to him. He'd carry one if it was, in his words, "prettier looking".

I OC a "purdy" gun which is the polar opposite of what he would carry.

This is where you get paint made specifically for firearms. It is one of the easiest paints for us hobbyists to put on.

I just now found out they have it already in a spray can.

Then all you would need is to tell me what sort of design you want. I can cut my own stencils.

Also... SO MANY DESIGNS that they have ... Whoa... My word... Where do I even begin?!

Probably something I'd consider for my Shotgun, because nothing adds insult to injury, like using a pink and white shotty for home defense against any robber or theif. Imagine the look on the cops and EMS faces when they see a robber on your porch and you holding a really really really girly looking firearm [hypothetical, we all know a cop would shoot anyone holding a rifle next to a injured or worse, body, even if its at your own residence, do not try that at home kiddies.]

I could SO spend my entire storm chasing adventure fund on these paints and throw the rest of the money at you to apply to my weapons stock pile!

Hmm, I wonder if it'd add more insult to injury if someone painted hollow points in the most girliest, femmy-est, gayest colours/designs possible.
