Indiana gun permit

A lady I know [very close friend] just got her Indiana life time permit.
It took just under 8 months. It seems after Obama took such a hard stand on gun control there are so many people applying it just takes longer.
Don't give up. Try to get everyone to get a lifetime permit.

The last number that I heard was something like 400,000 indiana citizens have their LTCH...But I think that number was from 2005 or something. I bet we're waaaaayyyy higher than that. I honestly think that about 25% of the adults that I know have their license, and probably 75% of the people I would consider friends are licensed.

Just came across a couple articles:
http://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/...cle_6b413de6-43d6-5e2d-9565-aa60f44d63e5.html
They claim there's a backlog of about 45,000 applications at the state police right now, and it's taking an average of 110 days to get an application through.
They also set the number of active LTCHs at about 493,000, approximately 10% of adults.

http://blogs.courier-journal.com/ou...ana-concealed-carry-permit-applications-soar/
91,000 LTCH applications from December to July; only 62,000 total in 2012.

6+ months....still waiting.....

I sent mine in back in Feb. The money order was cashed 2/27. No criminal record, lifelong resident of IN. Phone calls and emails to contact them have been fruitless. Anyone else had to wait nearly 7 months?

Welcome aboard OCDO.

Must presume you read the OP (post #1) - don't know if things have gotten any better or maybe worse.

Ya know, when it hits 5 or 10% they should just say one can carry w/o permission.

Why bother...the police should be out catching criminals and giving detailed reports of eateries.

Not harassing ordinary folks.

Seriously? I am moving to Indiana in a couple weeks and I will have to wait up to eight months before I can be armed?
