Well, I have no clue who you are so I can't look up your record to see if it actually registered you or not. So... unless you want to publish your real name on the forum (probably not), email me at ccl@paul-fisher.com and I can look into it for you.

I woud estimate that 40% of the attendees are women and I would also estimate that 50% of all the attendees were middle aged or older.

I brought my mother to a class because she really didn't have anything else going on and my sister and brother in-law told her about the class when I took them, so she was just interested in sitting in to see what is was all about.

She had no intention of applying for a license, well she ended up getting her license and wants me to take her shooting so she can decide on a firearm to get!

My mom has no interests in owning a gun, but she said she would want to sit in to hear about the safety stuff so I told her she could come along and sit in. She's always been scared of guns her whole life. So maybe after she learns a little about them she won't be scared of them anymore. Iv so far convinced her to shoot with me only two times. Both times I think she only took one or two shots and she gave up

This is how my wife felt last year.
She would never carry a gun, as far as she could ever see.

So, I got her to go to a CCL class. It was free ($20), and she got her Utah permit, for no reason at all.
The Utah card was all she needed to get her Wisconsin CCL, and she got that.

Today, she would never carry a gun as far as she could ever see, but today, she now understands, it is her choice.
Today, my wife owns her first gun in her life. She picked a gun up about three weeks ago. A smaler S&W .357.

Again she does not ever see herself carrying a gun, but if ever needed, she knows she can.
She now has the needed card to make it OK, open and/or concealed.

Same here. My wife was tolerant of me having a gun and open carrying but it wasn't until she gave in and went to a NRA Basic Pistol class taught by Yellow Cat last year and got to shoot some firearms (thanks Handy) that she started showing interest. She now has both her UT and WI license/permit and while she doesn't carry every day, she owns a Smith and Wesson .380 Bodyguard with both an oc and cc holster.

@Paul Fisher

You forgot to mention that after some quality one-on-one time with both instructors (MKEgal and Yellow Cat), she not only shot, she shot very well. And, as I recall, she transitioned from small caliber to defense caliber quite rapidly for a novice. The Yellow Cat is very proud of the progress seen in all the students in that class. Each of you earned the NRA's Basic Practical Rocker award for marksmanship as nationally recognized proof of your safety mindset and marksmanship skills.

There is a lesson in this fellow forum members. Obtaining quality firearms education from a professional firearms instructor with the proper recognized credentials can make the difference as to whether a gun timid loved one comes to understand, accept, and embrace our passion for the 2nd Amendment, or continues to be afraid of guns.

I do not get to Wisconsin but only once or twice a year, but when I do one of my favorite things to do is to teach others, whether novices like Paul's wife, or experienced shooters.

Yellow Cat out-
