I have decided to submit a complaint to the Sanford PD and that is it. It is not in my best long term interest to open carry in Sanford or sue the PD.

I was never put in your position so I won't judge. I do find it interesting though. Are we to understand Sanford PD will shoot first and ask questions later :) Maybe a OC in Sanford would be in order after all, plenty of free press if they arrested 25 to 50 OC. We could find a lawyer to work pro bono on that one, if not thousand bucks each would keep Town of Sanford lawyer busy for quite sometime trying to figure out how to get them out of it.

Maybe better to have a spontaneous oc in sanford with no media coverage. Give spd no warning as to us coming and find out just how they react to ocers. Im game either way. Record any confrontation and then contact media.

This is definitely an idea that's been under consideration. We certainly don't want to compromise any potential civil litigation thats in the works but if no lawsuit is pending then I'm all for a large OC gathering with no press release.

Has anyone looked at the Town Charter for Sanford.
Sanford is a Municipal Corporation.
Sanford Police are employees of a Corporation.
And I bet they have no public bonds.
Which means you can file a civil claim against any cop personally.
If you can show the Town is in violation of their charter you can file in court to have the charter revoked.
They have no authority to violate the Constitution.

This has been noted, but there are certain... issues that have popped up. Currently our wheels are spinning in the mud, but not for much longer I don't imagine.

I live in Alaska, but am going to winter in Maine.
I was born in Fairfield, Maybe I can get together with some of you this winter.
I'll leave here around the first of October, and stay till mid April.

I find it comical that anyone would "Winter" in Maine, although, I suppose coming from Alaska you will find it quit bamly around here. We would be more then happy to welcome you to our community of patriots. Please feel free to email any of us directly if there is anything that we can do to help you during your transition. www.maineopencarry.org
