CHICAGO --- Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is introducing what the city says is the most comprehensive gun ordinance in the United States.

At a news conference Thursday, Daley said the ordinance would include a ban on gun shops in the city and prohibit guns from anywhere except inside the owner's home.

That would mean owners couldn't bring a gun into a garage, yard or porch.

The ordinance would bar gun ownership for anyone convicted of a violent crime or with two or more convictions for drunken driving.

Daley is moving quickly after a U.S. Supreme Court ruling Monday that makes Chicago's 28-year-old handgun ban unenforceable.

The proposal will go to a committee Thursday before the full city council votes on it Friday.

Daley and his thugs should be arrested by Federal Marshalls for Civil Rights violations, abuse of authority under color of law and malfeasance of office. The people of Chicago should recall this facist scum at the very least. Why they keep electing this petty tyrant is beyond me.

Sounds like a good financial opportunity for the guy who invents the Star Trek firearms transportation device.

Amazing. There is no way the restriction to the home will stand against the McDonald ruling. I agree Daley has definitely crossed lines here.

This is like saying you are not allowed to speak freely outside of your own home, or practice religion openly.

Imagine if someone tried to say it was perfectly OK to search everyone at anytime in public.

What would the ACLU do if Daley informed us we did not have the right to remain silent outside of our homes?

What Daley is doing is similar to Wallace. Should he be criminally liable? yes. Can that actually happen? I don't know.

THESE RESTRICTIONS DIRECTLY AND SPECIFICALLY MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO DEFEND YOURSELF OUTSIDE OF YOUR HOME.

The McDonald and Heller desicions make it VERY CLEAR people have the right to own a handgun FOR SELF DEFENSE.

How in the hell Daley thinks he can put a restriction on WHERE you can defend yourself is obscene.

What the hell. This guy is a criminal.

There is no way this can hold up to the McDonald decision. By his very own admission, it is the strictest laws in the land, that automatically makes it illegal. Something should be done, but IDK what.

Also this popped into my mind when I read his full name:

"In Chicago, you get Dick Dailey" juvenile, but oh well.

I guess you can't transport a new gun to your house after purchase as well then. Seems to me that His Dumbassness Daley is just setting up for a new fight, which he can't win in a court that has one less pinko than 5 "rightwing" judges.

I just hope Ruth Badger Ginsburg lives long enough on the bench to see the moonbat messiah turn over the presidency to a competent "rightwinger", who will fill her "position" with someone who has reading comprehension skills.

I wonder if this will apply to judges, cops and DAs? If that is the case, there won't be many folks with a badge or a bench in Chicago that can legally have a handgun...

Actually, after doing some researh, it looks like this won't be a problem in Chicago. The way things work there, if you have a badge, and are caught DUI--even if you kill two people in a crash that stemmed from being drunk, speeding, and running a stop sign, you just get to walk with no charges on your record.

Ah, the privilege of the "shield"... The "Chicago way"...

DUI and Reckless Homicide Charges Dropped Against Chicago Cop
June 7, 2010
By The Law Offices of Larry A. Davis on June 7, 2010 3:12 PM

Chicago police officer John Ardelean was cleared of all charges against him stemming from a DUI crash on Thanksgiving Day 2007 in which two men were killed. The families of the two men were shocked and outraged by the dismissal but were told that they could continue on with a civil suit against the officer.

Ardelean was on his was home from the Martini Ranch tavern shortly before 3 a.m. when he allegedly swerved into the oncoming lane at speeds in excess of 60 mph, passing a car that had slowed down to park. Ardelean's SUV allegedly crashed into a car driven by Erick Lagunas as it ran a stop sign at Damen and Oakdale avenues. Miguel Flores was a passenger in the vehicle. Both men were killed in the accident.

Prosecutors were unable to use key evidence in the case after it had been thrown out by a Cook County judge and had no choice but to drop the aggravated DUI and reckless homicide charges against Ardelean. The judge had previously ruled that there was no probable cause to detain him and, as a result, any evidence of the Ardelean's BAC could not be introduced. Ardelean is on administrative leave due to a pending internal affairs investigation by the Chicago Police Department.

In Chicago, if you're brown, you go down.
But if you're a badged thug, then "chug-a-lug"!...
