i may have missed it in my latest reading of the Constitution, but hearing Trump today talk about arming teachers and giving them a bonus made me think: where does the government get the authority to "arm teachers" but prohibit ordinary citizens from carrying?

You are not in the "more equal" group. My internet school can issue a certificate of education, $39.95.....

Well theoretically, he could call up a militia (of teachers) ;-0 but I think the more proper way of looking at this is that Trump is looking to legislatively remove barriers to teachers voluntarily exercising their 2nd Amendment rights, i.e. eliminating an infringement on a select group of people. A repeal of the Federal Gun-Free Zone act would be in order but even that wouldn't effect the myriad of state laws that conspire to make it impossible for most teachers to legally carry on the job.

It will be interesting what they come up with. AT LEAST we have a President talking in the right direction, which is more than I can say for most politicians.

Spot on OC. Get rid of some of the GFZs and let people who are both capable and willing to help take up some of the slack that the police no longer seem to be able to do.

But, I have not heard one word about citizens with a conceal carry license/permit being allowed to carry on school property. And, what about universal background checks? What is that? I can tell you the socialists are saying that to be able to sell a gun (private sale) a background would have to be performed.
