looks like another six years of warrantless gov surveillance on its citizens

The House of Representatives passed legislation reauthorizing the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which is a key tool of the US intelligence community, despite President Donald Trump's tweeted criticism of the government's surveillance program.

The vote was 256-164. It now goes to the Senate for consideration.

So, veto proof or not, Trump has to sign the bill?

Not yet. It must pass the Senate and a conference committee and then the joint resolution must pass both houses and then it will be offered to the president to sign.

this has been very low key in the legislature and surprised it surfaced on the mediaís radar at all, especially since the country is facing a budgetary shutdown in a week!

i personally havenít see any flow on trumpís stance on the subject, pro or con!
