Open Carry in Apartments

I was wondering if it is legal to open carry on your property if you are renting the property? We live in an apartment complex and we have a small yard in front of it. I know if you own your property you can open carry on the property, but can you legally open carry in the yard if you are renting? Nothing in the lease states anything one way or the other about it.

I doubt that the "yard" in front of your apartment is part of your personally contolled/curtilage space.

More likely it is considered common area.

The answer(s) to your question(s) are more likely going to be found in real estate law.
