    The rubber meets the road in Vermont

    Vermont's governor races and wins, but how is he on the 2nd amendment?

    Or did the governor grease the palms of the other competitors participants?

    Nope. He was a winning driver before being elected. Don't think he was ever defeated in 30 races.

    This sounds fishy. I think we need to open an official investigation. After all he is a Republican.

    Wow! Looks like overnight Vermont will go from arguably the state with the most gun freedoms to just as restrictive as New York. Impressive. But, that's what happens when you elect Democrats. Same with the Republicans, just slower. Well, usually slower until they get control of power. Even if the governor vetoes Vermont's Safe Act, passage means it's only a matter of time. If not this year, the next or the next or 5 years from now. A great jewel in the crown of the anti's.
    “If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? ” -Bastiat

    I don't "need" to openly carry a handgun or own an "assault weapon" any more than Rosa Parks needed a seat on the bus.

    Even if this is signed into law, they won't be as restrictive as NY. They still won't require a license to carry.

    But, it's sad for my neighbors to the west. Many of them are the real VT hippies, who are as pro-gun as they are anti-violence.

    On it's way to the governor after a quick concurrence vote in the Senate! Will he sign it? This is the most dramatic and jerkiest win for the gun grabbers in my generation, and barely even covered by the gun media. I guess because it's such a small state? Even if he vetoes it Vermont gun owners are on notice. Get out.

    Better to stay and jerk a knot/not in their tail IMO. Do not abandon them to the antis.

    The Republican governor said he will sign it. The Trump era has seen great victories for the gun grabbers. Up next, Oregon and Washington to be absorbed by California. I believe that Virginia will soon be absorbed by Maryland as well.

    "RECOIL and MAGPUL invite the citizens of Vermont to the Statehouse at 2:30pm on Saturday March 31st to receive a free 30-round PMAG standard capacity rifle magazine and show their support for the Second Amendment of the United States. A representative from the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs will be on hand to accept donations that will fuel the legal challenge to the new restrictions."

    "Vermont Gov. Phil Scott on Wednesday signed sweeping gun control measures — including limits on the size of magazines — that the Legislature passed last month after contentious debate.
    The measures:
    — Raise the minimum age for gun buyers to 21;
    — Ban bump stocks, which allow semiautomatic weapons to fire more rapidly;
    — Require all gun transactions to be facilitated by a licensed dealer who would perform background checks, except for law enforcement or military members acting within their duties, or for gun transfers between immediate family members;

    — Limit rifle magazines to 10 rounds."
