Her son died robbing a Pizza Hut. NOW she is trying to SUE

I cannot believe Pizza Hut company policy do not allow their employees to carry their firearm on property, and on top of that their required to hit the panic button if they see anyone other than a Cop with a weapon . I guess I wont be buying Pizza Hut anytime soon, and the mom is trying to win the ghetto lottery . One more reason to keep carrying for me.

Pizza Hut isnt my first choice of pizza places to start with, but of the 'once or twice' that I've OC'd at the pizza buffet me and my friends have never had an issue.

If the employee is fired or disciplined I will never set foot in Pizza Hut again.

Pizza Hut is losing its once dominant market share in the USA.

Stories like this are just a constant reminder to me that most corporations and franchises care more about being sued than they do the safety of their own employees. I seriously doubt that pizza hut CEO cares about gun rights one way or another. What they care about is the liability they potentially face when things like this happen. They'd rather their store get robbed and their cashier shot than face negative publicity and a lawsuit if the criminal gets shot by their employee. Crazy.

I knew a female delivery driver who nearly got raped while delivering a pizza one evening to a house with three beered-up losers who started getting grabby with her. She wound up leaving quickly-- without getting paid--and had to front the cash for the pizza from her own check. She told her store manager what had happened, and explained that either she was going to be allowed to carry a gun with her on deliveries, or she was quitting. This was, of course, a violation of company policy

He basically said that if she happened to have a gun that he 'didnt know about' that he couldnt very well do anything about it.

She carried a .22 with her the rest of the time she drove

If my quick internet search is any indication, then the grabby assault on her was a felony.

That any company, pizza delivery or otherwise, would penalize being able to defend against such a felony is risible.

Really? Who do they think they are? Do they really think their business occurs in such a Pollyanna world that nobody would be assaulted or robbed?
I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

You'd think the UN would declare Pizza Hut a Biological Warhead manufacturing facility....

Registering gun owners to prevent crime, is like registering Jews to prevent a HOLOCAUST.

Why didn't she report it to the police?

I'd just be guessing, I dont know what was going through her mind at the time. Knowing her, she was happy to have gotten the hell out of there and wanted to finish out her shift without spending time making a police report.

And, (again, I dont know that she took this into consideration or not) even if she had made a report, in all likelyhood the cops would have gone and talked to the guys at the house, and of course they would have a very different story, and then we get the wonderful he-said-she-said situation that might not go anywhere.

Plus the idea of testifying if it actually became a thing...

Plus the fact that she was probably more than happy to never see those clowns again...

I dunno. Maybe all of those things, maybe none. I cant honestly say that I'd call the cops just because a drunk tried to pick a fight with me, especially if nothing happened. I'm guessing she had a similar mentality after this incident. A few drunk guys made lewd comments, eyed her like a piece of meat, tried to take her by the wrist or something and kept insisting that she 'hang out' with them while also telling her how 'hot' she was.

After she shoved her way out of there I dont think she had much incentive to make a report. It was probably scary, and creepy, and once it was done I dont think she wanted to revisit it or make a thing out of it.

    Just my guess

I do think it was ****** she had to pay for the pizza. The manager should have at least called the cops for that, and covered the pie by some other means.

I think adopting a stance of self-defense is a far more rational (and effective) response than crying to the police after the fact. What would that accomplish, anyway?

Good reason for pizza delivery persons to run a lapel-cam or at least a recorder.

Don't believe I have used "silliness" in that context - as a reason to delete - but thank you for the suggestion.

if your a pizza delivery driver, company policy takes a backseat ride to personal property rights. since you provide your own car for deliveries, you are awarded the rights therein, including having a firearm in the vehicle, and on your person if you want, if the laws allow it.

and one thing to the mother, out of desperation or not, he was armed and he was threatening lethal force on the current employees, DOES YOUR LOWLIFE P.O.S. SON HAVE MORE VALUE IN HIS LIFE THEN THEM? NO! HE DOESN"T! he played a game of stupidity, and was obviously a P.O.S. to begin with since he couldn't hold down a job, which was HIS OWN FAULT. and as a result of playing this game he won the prize of DEATH BY SELF DEFENSE, which he more then well deserved considering.

at least he can't be a sperm donor anymore to more welfare recipient wannabes.

Folks I hate to be the harbinger of bad news but this Co. Pizza Hut is part of the Yum (a.k.a. yuck brands [emoji14]) brand of companies. So if you are going to stop buying Pizza Hut, don't forget Taco Bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken etc...

I realize this is an old thread, but I felt I could maybe provide some valuable in sight.

First of all, any state that doesn't have laws that protect the victim in situations like this is a state I won't reside in, not under any circumstances.

In Arizona, if an individual is shot or other wise injured while engaged in a criminal act, the criminal can not sue. What's more, if a victim of a crime unintentionally injures or kills an innocent bystander while defending their self or others, the criminal is charged with the injury or death of the innocent bystander/bystanders, the victim is protected from any and all legal repercussions.

Also interesting, not too long ago in Arizona a business owner shot and killed one of two or maybe it was three robbery suspects. At any rate, the state charged the surviving suspects with the murder of their dead accomplice, even though it was clearly identified that the victim was the individual that shot and killed their accomplice.

A similar result happened in Broken Arrow earlier this year. Four criminals, three of them performed a home invasion. Those three died at the hands of the homeowner's son (via his AR-15). The fourth was the getaway driver, and she's now being charged with 1st Degree Murder.

No mother should have to worry her son could be killed while committing a robbery. Just heartbreaking if you ask me. But don't ask me. NO MOTHER SHOULD HAVE TO FEAR FOR HER SON'S LIFE ...

    Pizza Hut

I can understand to a point their worries about liability it is costly enough with just workmans comp much less a lawsuit from a shooting if god forbid an innocent civilian gets shot , Most times insurance companies try to settle out of court BUT its still way to costly and that is why we should be fighting for the JUSTICE system to ABOLISH CIVIL lawsuits against justified shootings .
