I will be vacationing in Iowa this spring. I currently live WI and hold a valid WI CCL.
Can someone please share a link to the pertinent laws on carry in Iowa by an out of state CCL holder?

Thanks.

Here you go. Click on the first two non-advertisement links there.

Alternately, there's more good info at http://iowafc.org/permits/

The executive summary is:
- do not carry in a school or school grounds, prison, federal building, casino, nor state capitol. Ignore signs everywhere else, they don't matter.
- don't carry while intoxicated
- no duty to notify
- no duty to conceal
- duty to retreat when it will not increase the risk to self/other

I would suggest reading here: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/iowa.pdf

Apparently Iowa seems to have preemption like WI, but unlike WI, the Iowa state AG says local municipalities may restrict. So, if City Property/Parks are posted, don't carry there, including the "State Fairgrounds" and all University Property.

Motor Homes: When a motor home is used as a residence (Parked) or place of business (Parked), no permit isrequired. When it is being used as transportation the firearm must be stored (unloaded and encased).
